The little red book of texts

The sea and henna patterns started to influence my work, I took a quote from the little red book of texts, I wanted to stop the strong bold out lining that I so relied on last year. And play about with creating a shape that was not restricted by outside line. I was happy with the illustration. But the pattern sometimes made the shape looks a bit flat. Something I needed to think about, and i remembered my out life drawing teacher telling me about when she drew her Dalmatian and when adding the shapes of the spots cleverly shaped them To help had form to the dog. This same logic I need to apply.
