Finishing things up for print
Sequins
This is my small but beautiful collection of sequins, beads and shells! I used these to decorate my illustrations, I really love the effects they created and I hope they print well! These colours together I think are amazing and remind me of the reflections of the sea that Are produced in the sun light.

Sparkling Mackerel
I really wanted to try the sequin technique again, and I wanted to revisit the patterns in nature that I had researched before, Mackerels have a really interestng pattern which can be described as stripes runng down their back, a defence pattern which would allow them to be camoflagued in the water from prey up above. It looks beautiful clever so I wanted to highlight this with the sequins. Friday, 10 January 2014
Turtle fun
My turtle for my seagal magazine, all photoshopped up ready to go! It's great to get re inspired again, and remind me of what I enjoyed at the start of the term! Patterns inside designs, I think that's the best way to explain it!? I started a turtle before in my last module, but didn't like where it was going, but after seeing Rachal Wilson's work I've been inspired to try it again! Wednesday, 8 January 2014
I love this girls work
I really really really wish I had created this illustration, its amazing, its exactly what I would want to create! Rachel Wilson's work is how I would like to create my work! i adsolutely love this work, and I want to create something similuar for my zine. I love to create line drawings in black and white with a splash of colour, to allow me to focus on the illustration instead of focusing on the colour.
rachaelwilsonillustration.com
Her main inspiration seems to be the sea, we have something in common!
Inspiration
This illustrator I found on this website called huebucket,.com but I couldnt find the illustrators name. The drawing has demonstrated to me how else I can draw the sea. The colours that work together. I might also look into making phone covers, as they seem to be as pretty good outlet for using the designs. I might also like to focus away from portraits to fill the rest of my zine up.
I need more inspiration
more research for my seagal zine, i feel like i need more inspiration for my pages i really want to have a zine which has 12 pages , i really like this illustration, im not sure who it's illustrated by, but I really love the patterns , I love working with shapes with patterns inside them and drawing on tattoos within the human shape is somethng that I appreciate. It looks like the illustrator has combined a photo with drawing ontop. Sunday, 5 January 2014
Adjusting my composition
I definitely prefer this composition just gives the illustration more room to breathe, and I'm definitely learning that this is important! And I like the way the back illustration is going, I may add more later.
Also loving my bamboo tablet
Front page
This is my composition for my front page, I like where it's going but it needs cleaning up and I think it would look better if there was more space around it. And the necklace might need altering. But apart from that I love the colors mixed with the line.

Composition
I think this is a better composition than before, it links the two pages together! I like it, and I might possibly add lettering. I know that it will go over the middle but losing a bit of art work won't matter because there isn't anything important to lose.
Sorting my Composition
Composition, I really like this, I think it's not quite finished yet, I maybe need to add some text a quote or something. It works well in b and w and I've decided it's probably the best route forwards!

Tryouts
This could be a definite potential for a front cover, I've used gold paint as the background and will probably need to reconsider what colour I use, unless I really want gold. I've kinda fallen in love with gold after Kelly Smith bringing out prints with gold highlights for Christmas,... They look beautiful and I really want to purchase one!
Anyway, I really like the composition used and the typograph I used as well!
Tryouts
I've been experimenting with different ways I could use these different textures, where on my illustrations I could use them. Here I've tried using them for a headpiece. I really love the depth and texture that the sequins create! And the colours are perfect! I also like the combination of black ink with the colour.
Sequins
I have been thinking of different ways to demonstrate the sea through different patterns, when I saw the sequins in paperchase I thought they would be a brilliant way to represent the sea. I'd also been inspired by textured fashion illustrations, like this illustration on the book 'illustration Now! FASHION' by Izziyana Suhaimi. As long as the sequins photograph or photocopy well then il be excited to use them!
Full Body
Re drawing after sorting out different compositions, and ways of working. I'm not quite sure if this would fit compositionally on a page without a coherent background which would make it sit better on the page as it would probably be a5 portrait. I feel also I good be a little more life like wit my drawing.

Seagals
Practicing a page for my Seagals Zine, getting the composition right! And practicing drawing hands!! Ahhhh they are so hard to draw! I'm determined not to crop them out of the picture by hiding them behind her hair or waist like I would normally do!

Mermaids
I love the composition of this piece, unfortunately I couldn't find out who is was illustrated by. This kind of compostition would work over a two page spread. I really want to include my patterns and he mermaid tail would work will patterned!
