Pirate research arrrggghhhh!

This advert is on the television lately for kinder, I really love the simple characters used and the colours and the simple background. It's so simple yet so animated, you can tell what the characters are feeling, by their simple expressions.
I also love the text used, and the built in layers.

Research

I love this panel of story that I found on a googles search, it's layer out quite cleverly like a comic, it helps the reader understand how to read the drawing this no direct arrows. You can easily read how the story is meant to be. Each section is quite detailed and I think ill struggle to produce something similar because I'm not use to working in that style! I need to think about compositions, colour and characters! That's a lot to juggle!

Do you want to go to the seaside?

While driving to work and listening to the kooks, watching the sea and the road! Taking my ideas back to the basics. I wanted to translate he motion of the waves on to drawing on to a page. So I started drawing lines with no restrictions or pressure of producing.

Pirate Research

These are illustrations that I found on a google search in he summer, I need to work in a slow and calm way to slowly big up a big body of work that will lead to a final piece. I love these sketches above and I need to remember to stay loose when I'm drawing my work, to create movement and to let colourful characters be created!

The Summer of Sea

Throughout the summer I worked at a hotel that was situated right on the beach at Cawsand Bay, it was beautiful, so enchanting to watch the sea move everyday. It was also very distracting. I loved the sea anyway, but to watch it day in day out, in rough of extremely calm conditions was incredible. I purchased a underwater camera and started documenting different seas, whether it was underwater videos of just photographs ashore. It captured my imagination. No illustrations were made from this inspiration at this stage just thoughts.
